GET
Klarna Categories
Returns the complete current regional browse menu, including nested source categories and facets, in native order. Cross-listed categories can appear under multiple roots. Supports all 13 catalog regions. UK, Sweden and Denmark preserve legacy source paths with null absolute URLs. This navigation taxonomy does not promise inventory or all product filters. Regions are usa (default), uk, germany, sweden, france, italy, spain, netherlands, austria, ireland, norway, finland and denmark. The adapter reads the same anonymous public navigation service used by Klarna’s browse UI. It does not require an account or provider key. Every node preserves id, name, source_path and recursive children. Source IDs include tree IDs such as t1, category IDs such as cl94, and facet IDs with numeric hyphens. Cross-listed categories remain in their original branches; node_count counts occurrences, while unique_node_count counts distinct IDs. These counts include the selected parent for child lookups. returned_count is the top-level items count. The category directory sets category to null; the children operation returns the selected parent in category and its direct children in items. The UK, Swedish and Danish sources use legacy path and attribute-filter formats. Their absolute url is null; no working Klarna page is inferred from a relative source path. Other markets expose source-based Klarna browse URLs. Product retrieval and category-product filters remain separate operations. Use category_id=t1 for TV & Audio or category_id=cl94 for Headphones with the children endpoint. A facet missing from the dedicated hierarchy API is returned only when the regional menu explicitly identifies it as a leaf. Unknown IDs return 404 with no net charge. A valid leaf still returns its parent record with an empty items list and costs 1 credit on a fresh request. Each successful fresh request costs 1 SocialQuery credit. Cached results, successful idempotent replays and failures have no net charge. Source requests have a shared 20-per-minute ceiling, a 25-second total timeout, a 2 MiB response limit and bounded tree depth/size. The adapter rejects unsafe paths, cycles, inconsistent IDs and duplicate siblings; it does not silently truncate.

Optional nonnegative integer cap on the maximum request hold. A live request whose hold exceeds this cap returns 422 CREDIT_BUDGET_EXCEEDED before spending. Metered holds use the requested limit; cache hits and successful idempotent replays cost zero.
